1. What Is Noorani Qaida and Why Was It Created?

Compiled by Sheikh Noor Muhammad Haqqani, the Noorani Qaida is a time-tested primer designed to teach non-Arab beginners how to read Quranic script using actual word patterns extracted from the Holy Quran.

Instead of asking a child or adult beginner to read full Quranic verses immediately—where multiple rules appear simultaneously—the Qaida isolates one phonetic concept per chapter.

2. The 4-Point Readiness Checklist

During our free 30-minute evaluation class, our tutors test four skills to decide whether a student should begin with Noorani Qaida or direct Nazirah (Mushaf reading):

• Letter Recognition in Connected Forms: Can the student identify all 29 Arabic letters when joined at the beginning, middle, or end of a word?
• Throat & Heavy Letters: Can the student distinguish between ح and ه, or between س and ص, without guessing?
• Vowel & Sukoon Timing: Does the student keep Fatha, Kasrah, and Dammah crisp without turning short vowels into long Madd vowels?
• Shaddah & Tanween Accuracy: Can the student connect a doubled letter (Tashdeed) smoothly from the preceding word?

3. What Happens When Students Skip Noorani Qaida Too Early?

When beginners jump directly into the Mushaf without mastering letter forms and vowel timing, they often rely on memorizing the sound of a Surah rather than decoding the Arabic script on the page.
